The lack of GTDs available to the reviewers when GTIs are freely available implies to me that it'll be a canny wait for my GTD.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

Anybody know when the motoring hacks are gonna be given a fleet of shiny new GTD's to thrash around in?

You GTI boys have had your fun, now its our turn

Apparently they're just searching for a suitable field to plough

You just made me spill my coffee.

Do you think there will be a big launch event for the press like the GTI had? I'm not sure there will be, I think it's more likely a few press cars will get shipped over in June and then the usual suspects will get them to review.

I don't think you are going to like this...

Evo July 2013 - Seat Leon FR TDI 184PS

Chassis balance is pretty good, possible to play front/rear axles off against each other in longer corners.

Amusing companion on a decent road.

184PS engine DOES NOT suit chassis, 280lb ft torque threatening to overwhelm the front tyres at every opportunity.

Engine flat power delivery and thrashy top end discourage you from working it hard.

On the plus side it delivers 40MPG when thrashed.

They recommend the 140PS 1.4 petrol, claiming a much better chassis match.
Now = 2011 MK6 GTI - Reflex Silver
Past = 2006 MK5 GTI - Tornado Red and Solid Black

Evo mag

I agree with this. Evo mag reviews are irrelevant IMO as its all about the track performance for them which isn't the real world.

I know the Leon is based on the same platform, but expect a very different car with the Golf. The Leon 184 got rave reviews across the board and was often the pic of the bunch.

Add VW refinement and you will have a very stable package.

Sorry to keep resurrecting this thread, its just that I can't believe there still aren't any reviews of the GTD out there on the tinterwebs?

Anyone find anything yet?
