GTI Build Dates - Anyone got one yet?

3 months is usually the demo time scales. I know that no amount of complaining will make it come any quicker its just highly annoying. Never know once wk22 arrives and they allocate builds we might be pleasantly surprised. Hang on who the hell am I trying to kid

Do any of you know if the dealers are putting on any special "launch" days for prospective buyers or will it be a very low key affair?? Can't remember how they launched the Mk6?

I got my build date today. I called my dealer for something else actually.

It is Week 36 (September 2, 2013   to September 8, 2013)

She said that my build week was initially in week 40 something week (I can't remember now), so its been pushed forward. She said it takes about 4 - 6 weeks from then.

I'm looking at early October 2013 I reckon.

It's quite funny reading through this topic now.  We're 38 pages in and despite the fact nobody has a confirmed build date, a lot of us are already to march on VW UK headquarters

Really can't see the point of launch days for the GTI and GTD. They've already sold allocation well towards the end of the year, those that order at launch because they heard about it through the launch will have to wait even longer. These cars clearly sell themselves early on.

With so much misinformation flying around (or lack of real information) between VW UK and the dealerships and a useless build tracker (lets hope it starts working from BW22) I would take every quoted build date with a pinch of salt.

For those who have "got" a build date it would be useful to know when you ordered it, what equipment you have ordered and whether it is a GTD or GTI. Could be that GTIs are coming later than GTDs (or vice-versa), or maybe certain colours (Oryx White?) or equipment (Sun Roof?) hold things up. There may be a pattern to it, or it may be completely random.
