Not as yet, I only done this lat night so truth of testing will be found out during thurs night thru to the wkend (about 200 miles of driving). ?Haven't seal the flexi pipe jet @ the air box, small amounts of warm air will be getting in. ?

On the other side of the coin, if I do, I wander how many kinds of small furry 4 legged creatures will I scoope up and desposit into the air box.

Thats true, wouldnt want any small arachnids touring the inside of your motor. Thats made me think, wouldnt perhaps some sort of fine mesh put off the 4 legged stow aways. i guess vw new what they were doing when they put the elbow joint in!

Be interesting to hear your results come the weekend tho. good luck ;)

Ah, the elbow joint, that was to knock them out so that u could pick them out of the air box without getting bitten!.  But the prob is on the VW system - the extremely small inlet in front of the driver side front wheel.  There would need to be high powered suction to get anything larger than a starved catapillar up it!

What I might actually do is move the horn and place the flexi pipe @ the grille on the spoiler ... I'll have to think of something to get it to stay there.

Im going to inspect the area in question tonight. Have a good gander, see if i can come up with any solutions. Like the idea of lining it up with the front grill. Still suseptable to flyage there tho, but just small ones ;)
