Stub Axle Question-
« on: 24 October 2016, 20:02 »
Hi All,

I am sorry to post about a Mk3 Polo instead of Golf GTi's, however I am stuck,

I went to replace an ABS sensor on the rear drum of a Mk3 Polo and had to destroy the sensor to get it out...the nut sheared in the backside of the hub which resulted in me having to remove the whole thing, stub axle, backplate , everything...drill out the bolt hole and start from fresh.

My question is..

Do I have to replace the stub axle and Nut?...the bearing and stub all came off fine with a large impact and there wasnt any damage to them

I am also seeing lots of different torque values for the main nut...has anyone the correct figures?

Would really appreciate a headsup.

Many thanks

Martyn
