Evening,
So picked up my GTI PP tonight, am well chuffed with it, can't stop smiling 😊
Just a question, (Sorry know it's probably been asked before ) the voice control it says I need an activation code is this something I can sort with vagcom and just switch on? And does the appconnect work via Bluetooth or is it cable only ??
Cheers in advance

Voice control needs VW factory activation code, no hack available.
AppConnect is cable only.

No it can only be done by a VW dealer.
That pack is basically just that.

In case you’re wanting to activate for app-connect, you don’t need too. App connect runs totally independently from VW’s Voice control. Voice control is only needed if you want to use the cars I built Nav, phone etc with your voice.
If you plan to just use App connect then voice control isn’t needed because Siri and xxx (whatever the name of the android assistant is) works through the mic etc without it.

Yeah figured that out this morning, surprised they charge £80+ for the voice control tho, thought it might be a £50 punt then more may go for it ! :)

VW voice control lets you control the VW audio system, which Android Auto/Car Play can't.
That's what I use it for "listen to Sd1" or "listen to radio" when I have Waze already up and running.
Just means not having to fanny around with pressing buttons while I am driving.
If you have a strong regional accent though you might find VW voice control impossible to use....

I'll see how I get on with controls on steering wheel and using app connect...
I'll probably end up buying it tho as I hate buttons that don't do anything ! :)

Some other useful commands for the modern day;
“Turn on wireless”
“Fax my stockbroker”
“Record Family Fortunes on Betamax”
“Play Bad on casingle”
“Start modem for internet”
...

It has a function with AppConnect - a long press activates voice input for AA/CP...

Yeah noticed that, but noticed "OK Google" works very well when connected...
