this might be a silly question but are all p plate 2l 16v gti's anniversary models?

read some where that only 150 16v cars were imported into uk, if thats the case theres a lot of them flying about up here!!

in a word, no!

the anniversary was a proper limited edition in addition to the normal 8v/16v's made that year.

have a load of info on it that i will get round to writing a feature on soon  :)

Im sure i tried 2 register mine on there a while ago but i cant see it there on the register. Maybe i didnt actually do it *shrugs*

cheers for the info boys,
so it true that only 150 16v were imported?
how can you tell them when driving, do they all have a red 16v plate on the front grill or is that for all models? ???

All 16v had the red 16v badge on the front grill. The anniversary additions had the deeper front spoiler, as on early GTIs, 16 inch BBS alloys, a red insert in the bumper and door trims and smoked front fogs and indicators, as well as interior changes. They are quite a bit different to look at, as they look IMO a bit meaner than standard 8 and 16v. As on the earlier post have a look at the anniversary register website as there are plenty of pics online.
