Agree. That’s the first mk8 Golf that I’ve seen that actually looks good IMO. Those ‘tusks’ in the front lower grille and the absence of front fog lights improves the front end significantly - small changes, but they make a big difference.

It just needs a set of wheels that aren’t diamond cut..........

That’s a great find. Thanks! Must say that I’m a fan of Kings Red and the CS but it’s not for me in that combo. Odd.

Moré I’m looking at this the more I’m liking and maybe that’s the one - agree about the wheels

This months car magazine has just landed this morning and very good write up on the R

Gets 5 stars their closing summary

" quantifiably quicker - awesome on B roads, on every kind of road it’s on a different level "

Think they liked it  :smug:

Whatever one thinks about the looks - which I’m liking sounds like the new MK8 is going to be a very good platform.

I guess a nice car to drive but with a crap interior and an exterior only a mother can love does no harm to Civic Type R sales.

Its not what people are used to with a VW though.

No still doesn't look good. Front end is just so depressing to see.
