Hmmmm two different DCC's....one for 19's specifically.... also an option for "sports suspension" for 19's which suggests by default its a bit softer when running 19's.

Only the choise of 18 Richmonds or 19 Adelaides. Literally, that is it.

Winter pack is a cost extra.

Not entirely clear what NavPro gets you. It says:

But most of that is also listed under standard kit.... only "Discover Navigation Pro system including Streaming & Internet" is different. 1600 quid to use VW's mobile SIM? Seems a lot...

Wouldn't be the first time clarity on NavPro is somewhat missing. I got bit with that one on the Mk7.

I'm only spec'ing DCC again because VW have made a big thing about it being clever tech on the Mk8.

Spare wheel, tool kit and jack are now a £100 extra cost option; compressor and can of gunk is the standard offering. Presumably the spare wheel has been deleted to save weight and improve emissions figures.

I thought I'd be a bit cheeky... using a registration of a Mk8 for sale on autotrader, I looked at the user guide to see the difference between navpro and nav....

Nope, still can't tell the difference.... other than streaming apps don't seem natively supported on the basic nav.

The data it uses though still comes through your phone and not VW's sim.

If you search the vehicle manual using the term "certain vehicles" you can see all of the optional functions.

I can see its got "predictive speed control".... which uses both traffic sign recognition (ie posted speed limits) and nav data (eg a tight bend).

With of course two hundred pages of caveats...

No options for leather or alcantara interior....just cloth.

Some interesting things on Car2X too.... Car2x can use other carx2 equipped vehicles to change ACC behaviour.

But more fascinating and something which I had never thought of:

To prevent abuse, a sender of Car2X messages must be in possession of valid certificates. The transmitted Car2X messages are signed with these certificates and compared against current white lists and blacklists. This checks whether the received Car2X messages are authentic, i.e. that they were sent by a legitimate Car2X transmitter.

The system content (for example certificates, relevant white lists and blacklists) must be updated regularly to comply with the Car2X communication requirements and to verify the confidentiality of other Car2X users. The update takes place automatically with a corresponding privacy setting when your vehicle’s internet connection is active.

We recommend that you go online every week or remain online to ensure that the latest white lists and blacklists are available in your vehicle. Your vehicle must not remain offline for more than approximately 3 months. After that you must update the system content or Car2X will be deactivated automatically.

Fake Car2x transmissions, that sounds like a world of fun we are all about to enter....

Hoping the updated brochure or price list is available soon. Usually more reliable and easier to work out than VW's much fabled configurator.

From what I can see so far, looks like no Climate Screen for Mk8, even as an option, which if correct is a bit of a shame.
