ok, so who can i get to do it?vw main dealer....

No dont take it to the dealer!!! Thay will want £80!!  :shocked:

 You need someone with vag com or just Get one of these:

Most small garages charge about £15 to read codes!!  :shocked: !

well, got the diagnostic done on the car! turns out its an 02 sensor thats the problem and apparently my "wastegate by-pass valve is sticking" is that my diverter valve??

You made a good choice in getting a 2001 model mate. Cars from 2001 onwards had better ECU's which are easy to work with and you will get more power.  :cool:
Golf SOLD. Replaced with a Yamaha Raptor 660 quad and loving it. This will be replaced in August with a Raptor 700. Sold the quad now got a Vectra GSI 2.5 V6 and its the nuts.

Brands Hatch massive. MEMBERSHIP ACCEPTED!

I got a 2000 plate deliberately. Cheaper tax pre 2001 and still got the best engine code if I only want a remap.
