DIY Service!!!

Hello

Has any1 done there own service on there mk3 golf gti 16v?? and where did u buy the service kit ?? i have a few questions to ask:

1) where is the pollen filter located on the car (as i havent got a clue lol)
2) can you change the oli filter without draining the oli and replacing it ???

anyother advice will be welcome........

not on the 16v but several varieties of the 8v's.

1)  Its in the scuttle tray under the windscreen wipers

2)  Why would you want to?

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

There is not really any point in changing the oil filter without changing the oil.  Changing the oil is very easy to do, even the most novice diy'er can change the oil.  You can have the oil filter and oil changed in half hour.

why skip changing the oil??? Always change oil and filter at the same time.

Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge" :grin:, auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Does that make my willy look bigger?

Oh yeah it's called Helda or something....

tbh is th eprocess of taking the oil filter off, youll loose some oil anyway, so you might as well change it.

and whats the point in putting a new filter on to filter crap old oil lol,

new oil and filter, 20 quid, job done
