I think the point is that many thieves will go for the approach that involves least chance of confrontation. Breaking into the house brings a far far bigger risk of (a) getting confronted (b) getting caught.

I would say a decent house alarm that’s obvious (flashing led) and security lighting at the front of your house / driveway are a good idea. I did this a while back and it does help you feel more secure.

I've had another look tonight and it is possible to disable keyless opening and closing but keep keyless start.

First go to Startsystem Interface and then go to Long Coding and change front drivers and passengers door to not installed. See the screenshot below.

I changed my driver's side door and it wouldn't either lock or unlock but the passengers side door operated as it should. Unlocked with the key fob and the car started as normal with the start/stop button.

Good man.
Good to know the option is there to do it. Nice that the button start can work independently.

Nice spot!

That's a bigger piece of kit than I imagined it would be, but still very portable.

Proves this isn't fake news... well maybe to some!

Not so much of a spot as it was on my local news last night.

Yeah much bigger than I thought it would be and especially the amount of ariels on it. You can see why they put it in a bag now.

Anyone know how you disable the rear hatch?
I have used OBD11 to disable the Doors and that works perfectly, however I noticed that the rear hatch still works keyless.
I've had a look around in in OBD11 and a bit of a search around the forum and couldn't find anything about the rear hatch.
Any ideas?

Much better way for keyless to work. My Audi A4 works exactly like this - fob clicks to open and close but so long as key is inside the car the engine start button works.

In OBD11

Startsystem Interface
Long Coding
Then change Front and Passenger doors from Installed to Not Installed.
(Activation of Kessy door handle)
