Golf 1.8T AGU clutch advice
« on: 24 August 2015, 13:34 »
Hey all got a 2000 AGU 1.8T and the clutch is definitely on the way and i am getting it sorted, but before i do just wanted everyones input on which direction to take,

Do i stick with the dual mass and replace it, or do I upgrade to a solid flywheel, also Sachs sports clutch or just go standard?

Depends on whether you are looking to up the power or stay as you are as to what brand to buy. I would definitely recommend swapping to a single mass clutch though

Got it delivered today, clutch an original Sachs as far as I can tell and solid flywheel looks after market but looks good

got a price off my mech for £160 to fit it which seems pretty good IMO

Well it cost me more then £160 in the end, he had to split a ball joint so that had to be replaced and one of the mounts was screwed so had to be sorted.

£235 it came out at with the extra parts and bit more for labour. Now onto the lower sus arms and drive shafts .... Fun!
