Getin vagcom 2 work again is as much fun as pulling finger nails off with pliars

hi all, after several weeks/months of attempting to get it working, ive had enuff, lol, it used to work perfectly, but i recovered my lappy for some reason, and since then it only ever reads the abs module, never gets the ecu module,

ive tried all sorts of drivers and versions of vagcom, buti am at the end of my patience, going to be buying a hand held one for now (as suspect crank pulse sensor playing up) but cant check it at mo.

can anyone shed some light on whats happening, its a lead of ebay and a toshiba netbook, with windows xp 32bit,

if someone could post which drivers they are using and what port settings that'd be magic!

but i am worried as to why i cant read ecu but can read abs modulue whatever i do..
