I currently have a Pipercross filter in the standard airbox which is half smoothed, I've got an S2000 filter and heatshield in the shed waiting to go on when my silicone coupler arrives. I'll then run a cold air feed from behind the bumper

I'm just going to drill some holes in the lower bumper vent and have it tucked behind, I don't want it on show

Hmmm might change at some point but leave the DSG parts as a feed to it...

DSG intake and snorkel going in to the ebay heat shield I reckon would be the best if insisting on a cone.

Where the intake is between the grille and bonnet, is meant to be a high air pressure point, giving a good ram effect. It so iv read!

The best heat shield by far is the R-tech one. It looks like it properly seals against the bonnet. It is $$$ however.
