GT TDI Badges
« on: 05 May 2006, 18:27 »
Hello all,

Should all GT TDI's have this badge on the back ? or can you get GT TDI's with just a TDI badge?

Just in my never ending search to find one I've came across some for sale with only the TDI on the rear?

Hhmm..........so how do you tell the TDI's apart from the GT TDI's?

I haven't seen either one up close to tell them apart  :undecided:.

colour coded bumper and side stips is the best way!!

also i think the GT TDI's have the GTI smoked rear lights.  and I think they only came with the 6 speed boxes and the 115, 130 and 150 engines.  Well anything from mid 2001 i think... :undecided:

also GT TDI's should pretty much have the same spec as the GTI's so look for electric windows all round, air con as standard, that sort of thing

Cheers fellas,

Looking at one tomorrow..........but it's Blue.  Might just take it for a test drive anyway to get a feel for them.

Prices seem to be all over the place especially in the N.E.

I'm looking to spend no more than 6k as I'm saving every penny for a house.

It's dark Blue so I guess that's the indigo.  I'd really like either Silver,Black or Green (has to be 5 door) as I'm gona keep the car for a good while and I want to be happy with the colour and not just settle for one.  I saw a Silver one with the 18" RS 4 alloys and it looked amazing.

So If I can hold out for the right one I'll be happy rather than just, ah well that'll do.

There's good examlpes when you start talking 150 - 200 miles from my postcode, with the right miles, year and price.  But the N.E always seems to be higher .

nowt wrong with the indigo mate

http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=39185.0

although slightly biased i think its one of the best colours.  Everyone other golf seems to be silver or black. just my opinion of course

silver on standard alloys looks rubbish and RS4's aren't that cheap; that would effectively ruin your 6K budget!!
