just bought a 55 plate gti with 55 k on the clock full service history for the wife, ran fine for a month, went on holiday came back to flat battery, not knowing when battery was last changed or if original replaced with new, warning lamps and gearbox locked in park, engine start but won't come out of gear and when switched off key won't come out of ignition. had local garage look at it but one week down the line no joy.
As I can't move it any help or ideas would be appreciated.
Some forums have indicated brake switch may be to blame but would brake lights come on when depressed ?
