Help....drain on battery, Glove box light?
« on: 08 October 2011, 10:59 »
Right, I got back from a couple of weeks away from work a week or so ago and the battery was totally flat.  AA ran some tests on it couldn't identify a drain.  Have just parked it up and the glove box light is red hot so I am assuming it is not turning off once I close the glove box.  Does anyone know how to disable this light?  Or how to remove it?  I think this is how my battery is draining when I leave it.  Anyone else had a similar problem?

Cheers for any help.

Have you actually checked that its that light?

Most common cause of battery drain is when people upgrade their headunits and don't then upgrade their canbus (this is most common on earlier models). You haven't done that recently by any chance have you?

No standard stereo in the car still, I disconnected the glove box light and this seems to have done the trick.  The car is starting at least now.  I would have thought that any interior lights went out when I locked the car though but the light unit seemed to be far too hot to have been off.
