Thanks jv

OKkkkayy this is my bora, Dont expect anything showroom condition but we all start somewhere and I will get this project done haha

Soo its been about a Year now and my Bora is still going strong from when I bought it.
Life started as 1 little 1.6 but then a 1.8t conversion happened! and boy can it move now :D

It looked like this when I purchased her, A little rough but I loved her on the rs6's.

Heres a few pics during the conversion

Then I changed the colour of the wheels and added hid's

Got bored then added :D Merc's 18" monoblocs only 8's on the front 8.5's on the rear. Went white and black to stand out but what a payne to keep clean.

Then a trip upto R-Tech hehe stage 1 195bhp. Nick done his magic and the trip back to Wales, well I cant explain the smile on my face said it all!!!! :D

Got told to lose the blow off valve and buy a forge recirculating valve :D So thats what I did.

I have replaced the crappy seats too for leathers, which im happy with I just need the door cards finished. I wouldnt mind some bora sport clocks soon as I have the standard clocks you find in the golf's.

The mercedes alloys are for sale shortly, I have purchased another set of RS6's untill I find a decent set of LM reps or something different without adaptors.
I have loved every minute of owning this car. During the last year I have replaced the turbo, stage 1 R-Tech remap, Decat, 3inch cat back exhaust, TDI dogbone from Awsome gti, purchased a new clutch kit, Pionner DVD player, Leather seats, Merc alloys, new coil overs, top mounts, CAi and plenty more to come.

What you all think?? Not bad from a 1.6 heyy  :D

So the winter is here the BBS's have to come off and be replaced with the rs4 reps. I have also played with the idea of spraying the front mount matt black so today I had time to do it and this how the bora stands ready for the rubbish weather.

Not done an awful alot to the Bora but this year hopefully will be a big change!!
So recently I have changed the expansion bottle, Removed all the PCV system and replaced with brand new. I blew a front coilover had this replaced too. I have wrapped the intercooler pipes in black vinyl as the spray was chipping grrhhh lol so Iv just been cleaning things up ready for a bigger turbo and spec 2 remap soon.
Hopefully before Ultimate dubs the wheels will be refurbed too.
Here are some pics from today after a quick clean.

Its easy mate get some sand paper, masking tape and paint.
The better you prep the wheels the better the finish will be.

So its been a while since I first bought the bora and quite honestly I got bored with it.
I thought I wanted to sell up so Iv stripped a few bits off it getting back to sleeper mode and decided Iv gone through too much blood, sweat and tears to give up and sell up.

Iv bought a few things recently, all new boost pipes. Iv bought all the gaskets for the turbo to go on too. Iv also put the standard bumper back on.

Heres a few pics so far

Before

Who says you cant get the toyosports intercooler behind the standard bumper haha
(http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac125/jamierees1989/2012-04-27193729.jpg)

Iv also purchased a few more bits but I will update in a few days.

Replaced the inlet manifold and rocker cover to make things look abit cleaner, I also cleaned the fuel rail, wiring and throttle body.  Here are a few pics what the bay looks like now.

Car up Rtech

I took it back up Rtech on 22/08/2012 was hoping after the 3inch turbo back exhuast with injectors and vr6 maf for anything over 240bhp and 270lbs+.

Another bloody fail but no dramas I had an oil leak and the car was booked in for 3 hours for a remap tweak instead of custom mapping (which is a day job)
Injectors and VR6 maf was out of question for now but still made 232bhp and 270lbs of power. The pull is amazing.

We found the leak was the gearbox, bloody mess it was I didnt think id get home but it made it and then it was replaced with a newer unit which of a mate cost me £40 :-D

If you notice the pic on the roller is still had the twin pipe this was the first time up there before the 3inch was put on.

Next time the car goes up im seriously thinking about wmi. Then k04 if the engine can take it

This car is f**king mint! Im not such a fan of after market body kits, especially not on a saloon. But I have to say this is one classy beast.

I'm impressed at how together you are on the mechanical front. You seem to just piss your way through the work, with no dramas. I'm one jealous thingy!

Can I ask, is the font on your number plates legal? And if so, where the f**k can I get some?

Keep posting dude. I really enjoyed reading this thread, despite feeling rather envious at your diy genius and rather more, my complete and utter f**king lack of it!

Haha Cheers mate,
Its an old car so its easy to work on
The number plate is an ebay jobby lol never been pulled for them and been through two mot's.

Theres still more to come, my mates helping me detailing it soon. Wheels will be refurbed and maybe changed to something different and more power

Thanks Chris its a working progress mate but its getting there slowly, once the injectors and maf are sorted its all cosmetic until im happy.
