Just got a GTi, Need some info

Hi there. Just blew the turbo on my 320d so it in the drive for the next few month till I can get her fixed. So oops I baught a 1997 MK3 GTi 16v as a we run around. Quite like it so far but not realy had a good drive in it. itted with de-cat pipe but seems a little groggy in low revs. Gona give it a good oil change and some new plugs.   
   The main two things I need to know is the disc break size. car registred 17-10-1997. Read so many post saying there 280mm/288mm. Can anyone clarify both the front and rear size and are they the same as the MK4 disc as I have also heard.
   The other thing is the locking. If I try and unlock the car from the drivers door the lock kinda hlaf unlocks then springs back to locked. I can hear the other locks motoring but then they all lock again. I can only unlock the motor from the passengers door. Any idea?

your disc size will be 288 on a 97 car
clean your throttle body too.

Reference the 320d, have you had the swirl flaps removed if not get them sorted along with the turbo.

Yeh, Done the flaps a few months ago. We metal fillings from turbo have got into oil cystem as well as into vylinders. New engine I think. Irony is I had just picked up a new engine for my GSXR. Booooo

Check the threads on the Bm forums, might be worth seeing if BMW will help in anyway.
