Just picked up a new 7.5 GTI which I’m very happy with. However, there’s one incredibly annoying feature I can’t for the life of me see how to stop.
When the start stop system is active it seems to tag onto the car in front. Now, when the annoying individual in front of me decides to stop at the lights several meters behind the car in front of them and then edge forwards this starts the engine again.
In my old GTI the start stop system wouldn’t start the engine until I pressed the accelerator. There must be a way to set it up like my old mk 7??
Any ideas?

Hello Richard
I'm afraid there are only two ways to disable it. Either by using vagcom or OBD11 software, or by turning off front assist in the menu's.
You'll find more help and useful tips in the Mk7 subforum

I changed to voltage value in VCDS but it still kicks in now and then which is annoying. Not keen on the start/stop thing at all :undecided:
