Title: Golf mk4 1.8 turbo dash problem

Hi new to forum got a golf mk4 1.8 turbo. tonight when I was driving there was a smell of electric burning smell then the dash lights flickered on off then speedo rev counter. then smoke came from heater vents then I turned it of left it abit started the car again there no dash lights now but everything else works indicators heating etc it’s just the dash lights anyone Got any ideas. Thanks
