« on: 12 January 2011, 13:16 »
hey guys, just did a quick search on the forum for the best way to fix a pressed plate into the surround

the decision seems to be adhesive tape!

what have other people used, i was thinking of maybe using araldite .... or some other high strength adhesive glue?

Trim tape is your best bet.

trim tape and plate holders dosent always work! does you plate holder clip the plate in? if yes then use a couple of self tappers for the front holder and 2 bolts for the rear then clip the plates in, if not ensure you clean (pre paint panel wipes are best) and warm the area where the tape is going to go

the surrounds I have the bottom strip clips off and the plate slides in from the bottom, then clip the bottom back on and the plate is snug inside the surround

Doesn't really help you though im just bragging :P
