Another Gear box related question!!!

Seems to be lots of gear box situations at tyhe moment, and heres another one.

My VR is jammed in 3rd gear - and have heard this is a common gear selector failure.

Is this so? in which case will it be cheaper to replace the box rather than repair??  :undecided:

If it is jammed in 3rd would be cheaper to replace the box.
