Post by: DRC on 19 October 2011, 20:44
Well,

Just though I'd let ya'll know I'm booked in to see 'The Doctor' for a dose of ECU fiddling on Monday :)
Actually can not wait to see what new lease of life it brings to my A3 :) And if I go on the rolling road I'll be sure to video it.

Hope you're all well and looking after yourselves :)

You won't be disappointed

Is yours the 140 or 170?

It's the 140 Rhyso, so hoping for around 180bhp :)

You got the later CR engine?  :undecided:

Easy 175bhp + as long as the engine is healthly   I have a love hate relationship with the 140's.  I love remapping them but hate it that they feel as fast as mine so I end up hammering mine on the way home just to make sure mine is the faster car

Enjoy mate. I've got a mapped CR140 A3 and it's great, although I've just ordered a mk6 gti. My spec is similar to yours but it's in Ibis White. 2009, 2.0 tdi, 3 door, black edition, full leather, interior light pack, 6 cd charger, cruise, other stuff I've missed. Also lowered on Weitec coilies, H&R spacers, S3 brakes, Whiteline anti lift kit, Eibach ARBs. Needs to go back to standard to be sold shortly though.

As stated above your looking at around an hour and a half including checking to see if it is protected or not

It depends on the vehicle you have - 99% of GTI's are not protected whereas 99% of CR TDI Golfs are  :undecided:

I'd like to say a BIG thank you to Craig and Nick at Carbon Chip Tuning.
My god does she fly now :D smiles all the way home! It was only after I decided I wanted a Dyno so we didn't get a read out before but it had a recent oil change and filter change so hopefully around the stated 140 :) Also have a cheeky Carbon sticker on the back :) nice and subtle ;)

Hi Doc; sorry for crashing this thread; but is that the case for early MK6 GT140 TDIs too? I was hoping to have mine 'tweaked' as warranty up next month (yep; I've nearly turned 60!). She's an 09 plate GT140CR; delivered on August 1st 2009 if that helps?

Be interested to know what you think.

Cheers,
dieseldunc

So what would you expect to get out of a GTI chaps?

Do you have any dyno print outs for a mapped car overlayed against a standard curve? What differentiates your map from apr, revo etc?

GTI drivers like all the other mk6 drivers are more than a little weary about having their maps / details splashed all over the net.....

I'll ask some clients if they mind me publishing on here first.

Your looking around 240bhp - 250bhp on a manual car - is your car manual or DSG as I've had some fun and games with a few of the DSG torque limiters pulling back the power towards the top end of the rev range, I've resolved this now but it did have me scratching my head for a while

I have a "show pony" member from here who's coming in next week for a remap that has given his kind permission so I can glue his results all over here as long as I hide his reg  :lipsrsealed:
