mk2 dash speakers?

will the dash speakers from a mk2 fit in a mk3 dash? are they the same size?

it will fit but you will not be able to secure it in place very well
mk2 dash speakers are 3.5" whereas the mk3 is a moulded 1" tweeter in the dash but is 4" in diameter
