Golf has developed a shudder
« on: 17 November 2014, 09:31 »
hi folks,

my golf gti mk 1.8 t has started shaking and shuddering this has come on all of a sudden and its as if the car has lost half its power. I checked the plugs which seemed ok but im no mechanic so it could be them. The car drives but its very stressful and you have to keep the revs above 3000, it feels like it needs to spit something out but I don't want to push my luck and give it a blast because it will probably blow up knowing my luck.
Any advice would be helpful as I don't want a garage to pull my pants down with technical jargon I don't understand.
Many thanks in advance.

Jamie

Look for any boost pipes that may have blown off / when was the last time you cleaned the throttle body?

Guys, thank you your legends, had a look underneath and spotted a pipe which was just hanging on, sorted it out and the car runs great! Thanks again
