Next came the DIY rust repair, never done anything like this before!

So you have filled a area on the car that should be welded for strength.

Mot fail bad bad move.

Don't have an MOT in the Channel Islands

That's only a tempory measure as i wanted to stop the rust! i have plans to get all rust cut and welded when it goes in for it's respray. So i think it looks better

Cheers mate, welds will definately be happening as i want to get my boot badge flushed and possibly the wiper. When that happens i'll try and get the sills checked and welded

Next i decided that i didn't like the orangey in the lights and that i wanted either just clear or red! I'm going with a white and burgundy theme

New side repeaters:

New front fogs with built in tow eye blank and new indicators:

And lastly, not to everyones taste but the clear and red rear lights:

Right not much more to add now!

My balls grew so i decided to do some more diy spraying!  :undecided:

Black bumpers annoyed the sh!t out of me, so i did a test to see if i could/would like a colour coded car!

I did use etch primer as i was too cheap to buy plastic primer but this is only a trial and i know it will/has started to peel and crack

Didn't like the black bumper and arch trim colour, but i liked the look and texture. So instead of going down the dearch route. I decided to give it a colour code myself  i had previously done the grille (which was the 1st thing i sprayed) and it came out okay, then i did the spoiler which also came out okay.

Bit the bullet and £50 later i had:

couple of sheets of 400 grit paper
2 1/2 cans of made up paint to match the paintwork (spot on match as well!)
2 BIG rolls of masking tape
3 whole news papers lol

Well it started off by being masked and then lightly sanded to remove any small imperfections. didn't take the trim off as this will be happening when i tackle the arch work which i'm hoping is fine!!

After that it was then completely covered with news paper, primered and sprayed

I was very happy with the result and this is how it came out

Yes the car does sit that low, it does scrape and i do need to higher it lol

Also picked up genuine VR6 splitter off my old GTi

Comments welcome (Good or Bad lol)

Yeah the sill is nothing really, it was mainly surface rust with a couple of very small holes, but as i want this car perfect i will be doing it properly!

Those pictures don't do it justice, i've geven the car a good clean and polish so will get some pics that really set it off tomorrow

Looks nice!

No offence, but think that if the trim was a bit shiny'er it would look a lot better, not too keen on the matte finish :undecided: Sorry.

Other than that it looks sweet, and like the bay a lot!
