I'm fortunate that I used to work for a rock climbing company and got mesen a "crash pad". Like being on a matress

  I've got a half decent cushioned car creeper but they're no good unless the car is like 2 foot above the ground!  I have a thin, crappy mat but i'm not even bothered about being on the ground its the fact that you're cramped under the car and cant use your arms properly or get into the right positions for stuff.
