Wheel size question
« on: 16 August 2014, 16:59 »
Hi all, I have access to a free set of lovely 18" wheels from my father in laws old 635csi. The car has just blown its head gasket and he is breaking the car. The question is can I squeeze these wheels onto my golf? The tyre size are fronts 235/40/r18. The rears are 265/35z/r18's. The wheels are 5x120 I think so will need an adaptor?

You will need adaptors plus change the tyres even after that arch work will still be needed.

Better to sell them as they are worth good money

Sounds like good advice. Was looking for a good pair of anniversaries but thought these would be fairly unique

Are they 9j all round or are they staggered?

If they are the same all round they'll be fine on the rear but you might struggle on the front. 15mm adaptors would bring the final offset to et25.

You'd have to stretch some 215/40/18s or similar onto them though.
