Help ! I've got a 1992 K GTI 2.0l 8v been sat a while but ran fine before. I have compression, decent spark and have replaced what I expected to be a dodgy fuel pump and it still won't go. I've checked all the fuses and the fuel pump relay, all of which are fine. There is no resistance running through the relay and there is power to the pump. It doesn't have a crank sensor, I've had the front mount off and looked ! I even replaced the knock sensor just incase. I'm out of ideas now and beyond cheesed off ! Anyone had the same issue that can help me out ???

Does the engine turn?
If so its a timing issue if not try cheeking the starter brushes.

can you hear the fuel pump running? if so, is there fuel getting to the injector rail?
