sounds good tech. we do it quite a bit now - my brother has a vectra at pretty much touring spec right now (a lot of genuine 90's parts from the real things) and we use that round the track. So much fun! Its not an actually track but more time trials around coned sprint circuits up on north weald air field. Its a great crack as you get loads of go's as its not overly busy!

Just want it on the road though, let alone the track

You bet I can't. Just need to get a long list of things ploughed out now. Bit restricted this week as I'm not in the country but hopefully after that I can crack on.

Just sitting in heathrow T5 waiting for my flight out and have come up with the following list of all the stuff I need to do before it gets back on the road!
To Buy List
Exhaust down-pipe gasket
New front bearings
New tyres t1r's
Anti freeze
hand brake cables mk3 or mk2?
VHT paint
Exhaust dowpipe bolts
Water pipe for washer jets
Things to hold heat shield on
13 mm drill for pucks

To do:
Wheel bearing/driveshafts
Run brake lines
re-paint front calipers
Clean shocks with wire brush + refresh
Find drive shaft plates
Horn
Fog light right side
Slam panel - mod and paint
Radiator wires
Main use box live - needed?
Brake lines - flare and run
Head lamp - 90 degree pins on right side
Side lights - put bullet connectors on
Boot popper cable solder
Rear beam bolts - tighten!
Insure.
MOT.
Tax.
Drive.

Still working on it mate hah, I got pulled away by clients so haven't got back to finish it yet. Looks like I just need to remove all the rad fan wiring and do some relocating of stuff then just wrap it enough to get it back in the suitcase with out it getting tangled. Then completely wrap it when I get home for saturday.

You better hope none of the wires start showing through the bag they may think you're a terrorist!!

Good luck with getting through customs on the way back!
