couldn't you somehow attach it to the parcelshelf where the rear bench comes into contact with it? That'd illuminate the whole boot quite nicely I imagine.. That's something I'm going to be attempting.

Depends on the wiring loom, not looked so thats the next step. Could always extend the wiring to anywhere really.
Probably not the shelf though as that gets moved when I need to put a big load in.
