Forzalooked pretty great.  As did COD tbh.  I'm not too keen on the look of tthe console but maybe it's a grower.

All the details you could need. By the way, don't go selling your 360 just yet, Xbox One isn't backwards compatible.

I'm not overly impressed with the Xbox One, it doesn't look any better than the PS4.  Going to wait and see what turns up at E3.

Its trying to be TOO clever  :undecided:

Also does Kinect no work in smaller spaces as i havent got it for my current Xbox due to the space it needs

It's not ideal in smaller spaces but it is needed to run the Xbox One, I would imagine mainly for voice commands etc. It comes bundled with the console anyway.

I would say it's trying to be too clever, same could be said for smartphones when they first started emerging, but it's a way of life now.

am I right in thinking they are locking games down to consoles? hence stopping swapping and px-ing.

if so, that's a bad move.

Not 100% sure but read this article, we need more details as they are being cautious of what they are saying at the moment.

The generally believed rumour it that games are locked to consoles.  If you want to play a game on a different console then you have to pay a charge to MS.

Kinect is compulsory on the One, whether you're going to use it or not.  However it's much more accurate and apparently will work in smaller spaces.

The killer is no backward compatibility though.  Plus the PS4 is faster (2.0Ghz vs 1.6Ghz, and DDR5 memory).

Until MS say exactly how the whole game install / resale etc. works we can't be sure.

Kinect is compulsory, but does look like it will actually be a useful peripheral this time around (we will see).

PS4 may be more powerful but the PS3 was a much more advanced system back along, in the real world, it doesn't really mean anything as it's all down to how the developers use the hardware.

Here's a good rundown of things people are asking:

http://uk.ign.com/articles/2013/05/22/xbox-one-what-we-do-and-dont-know

Looks like the borrowing of games is out the window, selling games is still possible but not sure how this is going to implement into second hand sales as of yet.

That and it needs an internet connection so thats a huge portion of the market they have just taken themselves out of  :undecided:

he only company that manages to get away with introducing stupid rules in Apple, Microsoft are gonna get raped until they back down and change things.  Which in fairness, they always end up doing. e.g.  Their decision to bring the taskbar back to Windows 8.

2nd hand games ect is going out the window anyway if it didnt happen with the next gen consoles it would happen after that.

Its going down the road of the PC / Digital route. PC i download all my games, Discs are abit 1990's ... my pc i can skype and watch tv no biggy

The other thing i dont get is people complaining about all the other non gaming stuff like skype and TV and sh!t... well just dont use them? apparantly my 360 has web browsers and sky tv but ive never used it so how can it be offensive? its just there in the backround if i do want to use, after all better to have the option?  :undecided:

As long as the games kick ass ill buy one

Also laugh at people complaining about no backwards compatability, get over it lol its called moving forward otherwise we would all be uses cartridges so we could play zelda and golden eye on our xbox/PS's

i tried to hammer the golden eye cartridge into a few of my later consoles, but could never got it to load

the point im trying to make things move on, ok its crap you cant play old games so keep hold of your 360's or whatever and when you get all nostelgic in 10 years time plug em in laugh at how sh!t the graphics are, crack a few virtual beers open and remember how things were good back in the old days

I love the way loads of people are saying they'll be getting a PS4 now and Sony have told us basically nothing about it. For all they know Sony could be introducing a subscription!
Title: Re: Xbox one
Post by: davemk4 on 25 May 2013, 12:03
I agree as e3 will be decider BUT as an opening info show it went down like crap. Wasnt a good start.  Ps4 is more powerfull but how much that will visually make who knows. Subscription will kill game stores so hope not.  My local game said  limited on on what can say but assure me it not all subscription it still normal games etc

Not buying a One purely on the reports of it not playing second hand games. Not everyone can afford new games on the day of release and I think Microsoft is shooting itself in the foot here
Title: Re: Xbox one
Post by: davemk4 on 11 June 2013, 22:01
ps4 more powerfull
ps4 normal games to trade in
ps4 cheaper
ps4 doesnt require 24 online check in

so ps4 has defo got my vote

But in the East their idea of a good game is different to us, they are heavy sims and flag games users, which require huge maps and resources to make them work speed is measured not just in FPS TBF and as for playability its down to the player who is used to stratagem games or FPS?

After a lot of research I got to say the Ps4 is the gamers console to go for with slightly better graphics.

PS4 is the console that does exactly what consoles do right now with better graphics. MS wanted to move the industry forward but consumers weren't ready.

Also, remember when the PS3 came out and was on paper much more powerful than the 360? How did that turn out?  :smug:

Power isn't everything, it's how developers use the various resources they have at their disposal to get the best out of the machine.
