Decided after washing the car today I was fed up with the rusty hubs so wheels off clean and paint time, but didn't start well, as I was jacking the car up (with the jack from the boot) the jack slipped out from under the car and resulted in the following :(

After using a bottle jack instead I borrowed got a set of axel stands in underneath ready to start working, with wheels off I could see how much rust was there

After a bit of wire brush and sand paper

And a coat of high temp enamel paint

16 hours to cure so will have a look in the morning and see how it looks :)

That will look better, especially once you have been down the road and cleaned the disks up. I'm not sure how good the black will look through the silver Vancouvers tho'.

I fitted new disks on mine just before being in the concourse at GTI International this year as the old ones were rusty. The new ones seemed to have more silver paint on them and so far still look like new. I guess the replacement part ones need more protection as they don't know how long they might be on the shelf for, whereas the ones for the factory get fitted straight away and are out the door.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
