With some of the paint systems now, they will actually use a specialised camera to see the exact colour of the paint on there already. If it's only a year old, it won't have faded (like an old red Vauxhall would have) and they'll likely get a perfect match. This would hopefully negate the need for a respray being blended into the adjoining panels, which (if it were mine) I'd prefer not to happen. At the end of the day, the repair needs to be perfect though, or I'd be kicking up a stink too.
I've managed to get 2 dents on the rear quarters from rocks thrown up by petrol strimmers and won't have them sprayed. I'm going to get them taken out by PDR and then blob a bit of touch up in there, let it dry for a few days (so it's still a bit soft) and use cutting compound to get it back to level with the existing paintwork.
