BMW X3 2.0d SE
« on: 28 September 2014, 08:39 »
Sold my Passat and bought my new 'sensible' daily. My dad decided he wanted to sell his A6 and buy a 4x4 due to health reasons he found it easier to get in and out of one. Found this X3 2.0d [150] up in Newcastle. Went and picked it up on the way back down decided it wasn't for him, he wanted something bigger and so the idea of an X5 came about, which he has now bought, full spec 2006 3.0d 8) and I bought the X3 off him!

Haven't really done much to it other then de-badge it and replace the orange bulbs all round for Osram chrome ones, bought a rear M Sport Aerodynamic kit bumper which I will be fitting today and give it a wash. No big plans for this as I'm supposed to be saving money but my girlfriend reckons it needs 19" alloys so who am I to argue

Before :|

After :D

That's all for now!

Little changes but all make a difference :)

Replaced these :|

With some smoked ones and Osram diadem chrome bulbs

Few more little things that I wanted to get sorted!

Brand new from BMW

Before

Old vs new, slightly different shape, couldn't believe how heavy these gear knobs are!

And all new :)

Cheers mate, it has definitely grown on me, managed to pick up a brand new genuine Aerodynamic front bumper off eBay. Also the centre grill and fog light supports all genuine and new as well :D got the bumper painted and built back up yesterday, fitted matt black grills too, didn't like the chrome around the standard ones :| Just need to see if I can source the side skirts for this kit now!

Yeah really like the X5, think if I ever sell this il be buying an X5, this is my old mans 3.0d ... I'm working on talking him into selling me those 20" alloys

Won't be buying anything else for this any time soon, just a big push to get my mk2 Golf finished although I do have a shopping list haha:

• Aerodynamic side skirts & arches
• Leather interior
• HID headlights, HID fog lights & LED number plate lights
• 19"/20" alloys
• Remap
• Tinted windows

Sh*ttest, ugliest piece of sh*t on here, bar none.

You suck at buying cars, please take the pointy D hat from Wayne and go sit in the corner.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Holiday cottages on the Isle of Wight for 2-10 people? PM me.

It really is a hateful POS, I mean, WTF is going on with the indicator/headlight interface at this angle:

It's like it was f*cking thrown on the car.

Just hope it does not go through suspension bushes like the X5 will.
They are a pita, I know a guy who specialises only in removal and fitting of these items on BMW's iffy 4x4 range.
