If it is a daily and running all ok, why go to all the hassle / expense of a 1.8t conversion

Yes the 2.0 is not the greatest engine ever made but for a daily it will do.

Factor in the cost of conversion and you may as well purchased a 1.8t in the first place.

Or just 1.8T the MK3, get rid of the bora and use that as a daily.
Why u want a daily just out of interest?

Not wanting to rain on your parade Murraymint, but its not screaming "tune me" is it? and 175k miles??? autotrader is full of high mileage petrol Bora's at this price. Clean it up, sell it, make a couple of hundred quid, save the money you were spending on the 1.8t conversion, buy a mk4 golf tdi with a great engine and monty's already on and without a boot and ugly front end and away you go.

Theres a reason why the diesel mk4's hold their value and the petrol ones don't.

Cheers, I did hope to get more but that's life. Combination of things, needed a more sensible daily, and have nowhere to keep it so I had to let it go for what it sold on ebay for.

With the golf gone and I must say not missed, I had nothing to do today, so thort I'd give the bora some love, started by washing it for the first time since buying it  :embarrassed:

I then took the 2.0 badge and number plate surrounds off

Then gave the engine bay a quick clean

You can see what it was like on the first page.

Thort I'd take this photo as I must live on the most colourful street in England!!
