After having a good read around and a chat to a Niki at R-Tech about having my car re mapped. I've decided for peace of mind I'm going to fit rods before I do to many engine mods. I also think after the breaks I'll finally get the suspension sorted out to make best use of the diff and any future power increase.
Problem is I can't decide what to go for? Money no object it'd be KW V3's but with so many other things to spend my money on like moving house at some point. I just can't justify the out lay.
So what I've been thinking is either Weitec Hicon GT Coilover or Bilstein 20mm/15mm B12 Pro Lowering Springs & Shocks Suspension Kit. I love the idea of a track day but I just don't know if I'll ever do one. With the car being used for family as much as fun I can't decided between compliance and out right handling? I have polly top mounts on the way from the Shark group buy. Also I may buy some 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers

Forgot I ordered this a while ago from Bill.

I'll be fitting it at the same time I fit a Welly cooler. So hopefully some time later this year!
I had a nightmare earlier this week. When I bought the car the ring on the key fob was broken and looking pretty tatty. I bought a new blank to replace it but I could find anyone who would cut the key. I found it again recently and tried again this time finding a local independed key cutter to cut it. So got a new battery and changed the guts of the fob over. Only I couldn't get the dam transponder out! I tried using nail varnish remover (not mine!) and a scalpel. Unfortunately I slipped and the scalpel broke the transponder[:@]. So I'll have to buy a new transponder and get it paired with the car! Anyone know of a place in Lincoln how could do it for a reasonable price???
Today this arrived in the post so I can add a second key. It came from ebay bought from someone in Bristol who'd lost there key. Bought a second hand one and a blank swaped it all over then found there key.

Oh and I think for the money I'll be buying the Wietec's and grooved one price discs. Cars booked in for MOT on Monday :help:

Well it's just failed the MOT. The broken spring I new about and I have a second hand one at home to fit. NS Track rod end needs replacing. So it's booked in for Wednesday and I'm going to get the front ARB fitted at the same time.
Only PITA is the front Tyres are just on the legal limit! That's around 4000 on those two! Should of had the tracking done when I had them fitted what a school boy error!!!!
Looks like the coilovers will be on hold a little longer.

I was just thinking last night when I was trying to get to sleep about what I have to do to my car and what I want to do. This came after my wife found my FMIC and asked why did you buy that when you NEED brakes? Good question:whistle:
So I need to focus my limited time/money and not just go on mad ebay and fourm driven spending sprees. As I already have a few hunder pounds worth of bits to fit and there is some thing that I do NEED to spend money on!!!.
So I thought I'd put my mental list here.

What I NEED.
1 Brakes- I've decided on the Goodspeed groved front and rear disce, DS2500 2front pads and OEM rear pads. Change the brake fluide. Braided hoses.
2 Sort out the fault code 16804 here's a link to the thread I started to try and sort it out http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=337744 any help would be great thanks
3 Replace the suspension- I'm stuck between KW V1 and Wietech GT Hicon? I've also had a very good quote for full polly busing. New top moutyhs and I have the polly top mount bushes.
4 Replace the front spiltter ans it's hanging very low and is catching on speed bumps. It also looks a mess.
5 the fornt tyres will need replacing before the winter.

Bits I've bought and need to be fitted
1 The Wellycooler, I can't wait to fit this ;)
2 Neuspeed front ARB will be fitted when the rest of the suspension get fitted.
3 LED side lights.
4 Replacement cup holder.
5 Oil cooler.
6 Audi TT front strut brace.

A few small things I want to do
1 Repaint the brake calipers ( I already have new Brembo decals)
2 Tripple R composit rear defuser when they start selling it!!!.
3 225 steering wheel.
4 Turbo back system with sports cat.
5 WMI with forge map pipe.
6 Forge carge pipe and othe hosing.
7 Catch can and sort out the PVC.
8 New hand brake and gear lever gaitor/gear knob from Sere motors.
9 Stack boost, oil temp, oil pressure gauges and Nomad two gauge A pillar gauge holder.
10 Liquide gauge.
11 Refub the wheels and new centre caps.
12 New stereo.
13 B5 V2.2 TIP with new air filter and home made heat sheild.
14 Forge 008 DV.

The bigger things I'm planning to do!
1 Forged con rod's.
2 Relentless V3 manifold.
3 Re built large port head.
4 EBC
5 Straight to custom Stage 2 map.
6 Re spray
7 (A dream) Recaro interior
The End :thanks:

All I need is the time and the money. So this is going to be a very long term project:D

Well just got everything ready for tomorrow

The plan is the Wellycooler, oil cooler (not the pumbing though), LED side lights and re paint the front Brembos. I'll post up parts list and fitting guilds.

As I've been up since 6:15 with the kids I thought I'd post a few photos. I've been reading about FMIC set ups and have decided to go with the Toyosports type B large IC. Known as the Wellycooer due to it's origins in the custom FMIC thread on ASN.
It's a big core 600/300/76mm here it is sat in front of our dishwasher

A link to where you can buy it. I paid £96 delivered.
http://www.toyosports.co.uk/intercooler-70-c.asp

On to the pipe work. I'm using 45 degree 76/63 mm silicone reducers either side from core.

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=290362072607&index=3&nav=SEARCH&nid=02221114485

Then 90 deg 63mm alloy beaded joiners (or I would be if I hadn't been sent stainless ones!!!)

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=270865713881&index=0&nav=SEARCH&nid=83301232105

Then 90 deg 63 mm silicone hose which then joins up     to the plastic map pipe on the passenger side.

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=160786524988&index=15&nav=SEARCH&nid=14320667086

To join up with the top turbo hose from the charge pipe you'll need a 63 mm short alloy joiner.

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=160516793157&index=2&nav=SEARCH&nid=62645597597

That's all the parts you'll need other that jubilee clips. I've avoided the T bar type clips as a few people have recommended not using them.  As there easy to over tighten and cause boost leaks by bending the alloy joiners.  But each to there own. Thanks to Dad I didn't  have to buy jubilee clips.

As I still have the original top turbo hoses. I've divided to replace the one from the charge pipe with a 45 deg 63 mm alloy joiner and a 45 deg 63mm silicone hose

You can buy these also from Mr Silicon.

The pipe work

The driver side pipe work.

The passenger side pipe work.

So that's the pipe work. Next was trimming the body work to get the core to fit as far back as possible....

So while my Dad was sorting out the brakets and the driver side wheel was off. I re sprayed the driver side Brembo. They where in a mess.

I went a little OTT with the masking!

After six coats for heat proof red pain I bought from eBay. Unfortunately I forgot to bring the Brembo stickers with me.

At this point the beer had begun to flow and dinner was ready. So I forgot to get photos of the top brackets! But here's a side on photo with out Olivia in the way.

Mums just cooked a fry up (with black pudding to!!!!) so we'll be back to work soon. I'll keep you posted on progress.

For relocating the horn I used the mounting point for the passenger side, side mount intercooler.

Brackets for the top of the core.

Top of the bumper bar marked off

Bottom of the bumper bar

This is how much was removed.

And fitted.

This is the brake pain I used. Drys very quickly and is good up to 650 C. Bought from eBay

The jubilee clips used

As we decided to used the rubber air deflector at the bottom of the IC. Everything is a little hight than on other set ups. This means that I won't be able to mount the oil cooler on top of the crash bar. So its going in place of the drivers side side mount IC. Also it means the 45 deg 76/63 mm reducer goes  partly over the thread for the towing eye. I can get the hook on but I wouldn't want to drive a track day like that so I'll buy and fit a strap.
I'm very pleased with the set up. Just need to fit the oil cooler and re fit the bumper. I've also painted the passenger side Brembo.
