Well if it makes him feel better, it's not as bad as what I did to my Brescia when the GTI was just 4 weeks old (had to take evasive action to avoid a foreign truck driver coming round a bend on my side of the road !!). In the end I got a good deal on Ebay from a VW dealer in Scotland on a brand new Brescia (for only £350.00  ;D ), and I sent the damaged alloy off to Lepson's last week and just waiting for it back which will become a good spare.

SRGTD/Guzzle/Davy...cheers for the responses guys, much appreciated

I do fall into the OCD category (according to the wife & she is always right) but I've somehow managed to cope without counselling since I damaged my Pret, think its probably with it being black and managing to get it with the touch up so its not that noticeable. I think some gentle smoothing with wet/dry then lacquer is best way to go for him.....he's not on the OCD scale which I am envious of

Ouch!!! .....I guess the bonus for you was not having the rest of the car mashed mate, well swerved!.....Lepsons were the people I was considering to get the Pret done while back, their work looks excellent.

Feel the pain. Just having 3 of mine refurbed, fortunately took out insurance for wheels which is the only thing I did from the dealers.
Cost me £250 for the ins and allowed to make I think 4 claims a year for 3 years.(12 in total)
These 3 wheels are being done by my preferred specialist  at £85+vat each, so I'm already in pocket!

Collected and being driven....... Gti PP 5dr DSG Tornado red, tints and Brescia's.

How did your refurb go? I suffered a bit of damage like yours today on one of my Santiago's albeit only about 5mm in size all because I thought I would park on the kerb to avoid kerbing only for the next kerbstone to dislodge and ding the alloy as I was moving off.
I've just cleaned it with IPA and bunged some clear lacquer on for now, dinged alloys always bug me but with them being diamond cut i'll think i'll just put up with it and consider refurbishing at a later date.

Buy this and sell yours on eBay. The price difference might be equivalent to a good refurb.
