I used 0-40w in my golf gti non turbo and it used about a litre a week, so dont go that thin lol, i would reccomend 10-40 casterol magnatec, good round oil which isnt stupidly priced.

i would also add that on removing your sump have a look at the pick up pipe oil pump etc and if you have acess to a torque wrench just remove one or two big end caps to have a look at the big end bearing shells for any signs of damage as you have run it with little/no oil not a good thing for the bottom end tbh to be starved of oil
