Change-
- Oil filter
- Oil
- Spark plugs
- Air filter
Then if your feeling it-
- Replace dizzy
- Fuel filter
- HT leads
-
Check:
Suspension bushes
Disc and pad thickness
Nick
-
and pollen filter.
-
Whats the mileage of the car? What does the service history say? Is it due a timing belt......Bit more detail and I'm sure you'll get the info you need. If your just planning a basic service then follow the advice above
-
>plugs
>oil
>oil filter
>air filter
you may want to do..
>coolant
>pollen filter
>fuel filter
>brake fluid
>PAS fluid
you may want some ramps to get under the car, container for the oil
oil filter removal tool!
new drain plug maybe needed.
thats just the basics, dont think i have missed anything?
-
just thinking the same myself....
ive got a 1995 mk3 1.8 convertable with a AAM engine....
anybody know where the fuel filter is and is it easy to change?
all the other bits are no problem
-
pollen filter is under the scuttle panel where yur wipers are, easy to get off, and the filter is on passenger side. easy.
fuel filter i THINK! is near the fuel tank under the car.
-
Fuel filter is on the drivers side just infront of the rear wheel.
-
A garage service is normally:
Plugs (unless high mileage plugs)
Oil + Filter (never one without the other)
Air filter
Pollen filter (if applicable)
Screen wash
Brake fluid
Belt checks
PAS fluid
Engine coolant
Grease doors up
Tyre pressure
Fuel filter (if needed)
-
Garages don't normally change power steering fluid, i take it you mean just check it?
-
Yeah, check and fill if needed.
That's our general service, we do a couple of other things but I can't recall to hand.
