One problem gets sorted, then another one comes along just to P*ss you off,

Oil light was coming on and buzzing!!! loose conection, sorted!!! Then  My mark3 n plate  had a cutting out problem, so i cleaned  the throttle body, and great!! problem sorted,  drove it about its great. go back to it the next day and now the car wont start,  it will turn over once, tick over for a minute then stall,  keep turning it and nothing ive changed the plugs, leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap, the battery is o.k, when i put the throttle body back it all went back together no probs.
                       Help

Make sure you have spark from your coil + voltage level to the coil
I used a halfords dizzy cap + rotor arm on mine and it caused more problems, changed to  VW parts and ok!!
fuel pump relay ~ ECU relay
Can you smell petrol when it cranking
Is the ignition switch ok?
VW or aftermarket immobilser ok?

This should get you started, Im hooking mine up to VAGCOM when my cable comes ~ pile of junk!

regards
Steve

Part numbers:
ECU Relay           -  165 906 381
Fuel Pump Relay -  191 906 383

Check Fuse 18 ~ fuel pump

I check the relays by applying 12v to the coil of the relay, then checking the resistance across the Normally open or closed contact.
