Title: Mk2 golf gti 8v wiring help
Post by: Mevergisy on 19 May 2019, 10:00
Hi guys I have brought a mk2 gti 8v with no engine it has a ce2 fuse box and wiring loom that's had all the wires chopped off on the engine bay end now I brought a new engine (8v 1.8) with the ce1 wiring loom attached to the engine, now the question I got is can I use part of my ce2 loom and somehow join it to the ce1 loom???
Any help welcome

Just get hold of the correct CE2 loom and plug it into your fusebox, no need to mess about splicing.

Not thought about putting a better engine in? If you want to stay 8v you could fit a 2 litre Mk3 unit as this loom is plug and play too and probably lower mileage and cheaper.

Yes probably better to source a ce2 wiring loom, if there's anyone on here with 1 that wants to sell it then give me a pm
I've already got the 1.8 8v it was cheep enough just thought I'd keep it original
