Hi all,
I posted here ages ago asking a question about a Mk4 Golf GTi that i was helping a mate with...anyways hes sold it to me for the princley sum of £100
He simply couldnt be arsed to throw any more money at it.
anyways in the last 2 years its had 2 KYB dampers on the back, new cam belt and waterpump, 2 new rear suspension bushes, 2 new wishbones a new clutch bracket and a couple of services. The bodywork and interior are still suitable, no rust or major cosmetic damage other than a broken mirror casing.
So now its come to me at 190k on the clock :shocked:needing,
new rear brakes, pads and discs
both springs rear springs
one spring at the front
a wheel bearing at the front.
some kind of un-metered air problem on the intake side
broken wing mirror
Weeping steering rack
a couple of electrical oddities
Ive managed to get the parts ( KYB suspension, FAG bearing, Brake Engineering discs, Allied Nippon pads) plus the mirror casing and a new key fob for £125
Hopefully I can get some decent tips from here and some help to make this old thing well again....Im used to the spanners etc
Thanks for reading
Martyn
