Replaced the resin in my water filter then gave the exterior a quick wash.  Only washed a week ago but covered in sand from last week's rain.  And as the inside was all cleaned a couple days ago, couldn't neglect the outside. Must say I’m very impressed with the Swissvax Quick Finish QD I used on it after last week’s wash, very nice stuff!

After…

Bit of water beading during the rinse phase…

No detailing as such but started looking at DAs ready for winter prep. See my other thread... http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=278613.0

Again, not really detailing as such but I spent my £100 voucher on the Karcher website last night. Got this as there was a promotion for getting an accessory pack when I bought it, and they had ran out of them so got a £100 voucher instead. :smug: This was better anyway as I wouldn't have used most of the stuff in the accessory pack as it included their snow foam and nozzle and some other car related cleaning brushes, which I doubt is as good as the VP foam I use and I wouldn't let the brushes near the paint work!

Ordered a 10m high-pressure replacement hose for my K4, which originally comes with a 6m hose, so now I will be able to wash the car without having to move the machine! (yes lazy but will save time!)

Also ordered some other bits and bobs for using on the garden/drive, stone cleaner, wood cleaner, etc.

Got the car washed today ready for it's 1st service on Thursday. Got chance to use the new 10m high-pressure hose on the pressure washer, so I can leave the machine at the back and get right around the front of the car now without having to move it!

Usual process followed:
Pressure washer rinse
VP advanced snow foam and pw rinse
wash wheels with VP bilberry wheel cleaner, big wheel woolie and wo-wo wheel mit and rinse with pw
2 bucket wash with DDJ supernatural shampoo and wo-wo lambswool mit
pressure washer rinse
open hose rinse
towel dry with DDJ/wo-wo towels
exterior glass clean with AG fastglass and wo-wo glass cloth

Only took the after pics today...

Thought I'd steal bec's idea from a couple of months back and take a pic from above for a different angle

Hopefully will get chance to clean, or at least vacuum the inside tomorrow depending on SWMBO's plans (and of course the F1 is on as well)

Snap! First attempt at a proper bit of detailing today with almost exactly the same method and identical products but also waxed with Dodo Juice Purple Haze. I think I buffed off the wax a bit too quickly but it was getting sunny so I didn't want to risk leaving it too long, I also missed a few bits in the wheels which only became apparent after I got back on the drive and the wheels had turned but will know for next time. Other than that (and a sore arm) I'm pretty pleased.

Still wonder whether I should have gone for tornado red but happy with the carbon steel grey:

Looks really good Dave.  Never shots.  Esoecially like the last one, really emphasises the great contrast of the black against the TR - looking amazing!

Superb first detail.  Beautiful, the CSG looking sublime with a coat of Purple Haze.

The arm ache will soon subside.........until next time.

Washed it, but will spare you the repetitive pics as it looks the same as it did last week and the week before that.

I seem to remember a certain person telling me off for not putting up pics once

True, but I also remember a certain someone saying it got boring seeing the same cars over and over.
