R-Tec Stage one remaps
« on: 17 April 2014, 12:03 »
Ok so if my car doesn't sell! I've decided what the heck i'll keep it as imo it's a goodun!

Anyway R-tec are just down the road from me and have heard good things. I hope to get a stage 1 remap up to 240bhp and then maybe a Miltek resonated cat back system.

Anyone any experiences of the remap? Better or worse mpg? Expect worse with spirited driving but on a run?

Thanks

yes, and it should be nearer 250 bhp . it is better than I hoped for. mpg is better if you can keep your foot off the go fast pedal, I would do it again, think about replacing the diverter valve , I also removed the precat.

I've booked mine in for a stage 1 in may after hearing many good things from this forum and a friend who went down there. Apparently the guys really know their stuff and the custom remaps are much better suited to the mk5 than others available like the company down at lakeside, who are more expensive anyway!

I'm really pumped about it and can't wait to see what improvements can be made from the whole thing, power and consumption

had my mk4 remapped at r-tech in various stages three times now and wouldn't consider going elsewhere.

50-60bhp from a map, filter and precat removal is a decent gain and it'll feel a hell of a lot better to drive
