My car has been through the wars recently. I had the head rebuilt (via AP in Colchester) only to find it smoking again a few weeks later. Turned out that some of the (Europarts) stem seals had already failed. A P immediately accepted the car back and had the whole head rebuilt for no charge whatsoever (with genuine VW parts this time). Then when it went in for MOT it failed on a fair bit of welding underneath. AP stripped the arches, carpets and seats (serious welding), and reattached them all afterwards for no charge and without marking up the price they had paid to the welding company.
