Title: Headlight issues. (not working)
Post by: Hazimaro on 18 December 2020, 19:04
Hello,

Golf gti mk6 2011 2.0

- both head lamps main lights are not turning on when switched on. However when turning on the indicators, the bulbs flash as per. The small strip light bellow the main bulb does switch on to.

Sorry guys, I have no knowledge on electrical work ect. Could this be the main switch where I turn to select the lights? Or a fuse?

Fuse box is on the side of the dash. Remove the side panel and check the fuse list to see which is headlights.  Probably just the fuse for the headlights. Sounds like the sidelights are still working just not the headlight. The fuse list and hiw to get to them is in the handbook.

Need to check bulbs then get someone with a multimeter to check if they have voltage. Maybe find someone who has VCDS Vagcom scan tool to see if any failts logged. As odd both are off unless the computer has switched them off for some reason due to a fault.
