connecting to vag-com problem

right having trouble connecting to vag-com tryed loads of stuff holding the lead in wiggling the lead changing the com port.

plus there is only three wires going into the obd at the back dont know if there is ment to be more  its a 1998 tdi 110 non-pd.

have you done a connection test in VAGcom? to set up correct port?

yep wont connect cant remenber what it said but not having it.

is your lead a copy or genuine?

i tried to use a later copy of VAGCOM with my copy 704 lead and it woudln't work.

are your drivers right for the lead you're using.

yea think so it was working last week on my 1.8 turbo just not on the tdi i have now.
