Another R-tech Remap for me!!
« on: 21 April 2014, 18:18 »
This was my 3rd R-Tech remap on my 1.8T AUM golf. The first was Stage 1, the second was Stage 2 and this time it was a custom Remap because I have had a BBT K250 turbo fitted, a ported manifold, an R-Tech super size TIP and BAM injectors!

I got there around lunch time on Tuesday, driving all the way from Weymouth in Dorset. After a little while Niki put the BAM injectors and off he went to give it some Gower Power! The car was smoking a bit because I had recently had the turbo put on it and the wrong type of oil was put in! It was 5/30 and Niki said the oil was to thin for the age of the car. He recommended I put 5/40 oil in when I get back home. Also, unknowingly, I had sh!te petrol in the car. I had been putting Esso Supreme petrol in her, but Niki said it is no good as it is ony 97 ron. He said I needed Shell V Power or Tesco's own Super stuff, which are 99 ron. Anyway, this did not prevent Niki from working some Gower magic on my car. After a while at the end of the day he gave me my Rolling Road Print out......

This was what Niki said on his Facebook wall about this remap.
"Bang on the money yet again. Quality and consistency from the Beach Buggy Turbos k250. Easy effortless power every time with these BBT units. Good quality tested products is what tuner need to work with, it make the job a pleasure to do."

This is a really good reading, 250 BHP & 273 FT especially as the car had crap fuel and wrong oil in her! I was really pleased with this as it was a good improvement from my Stage 2 which was 235bhp, but Niki said if I get Shell V Power in her and change the oil, she will get an even better result!

I stayed the night at a B&B in a nearby village and went back to R-Tech in the morning for Niki to finish off checking the car and making sure everything was A ok before I drove her on the 200 mile journey back home. While I was on my way to R-Tech I tested the new found power with my Liquid Gauge, which gave me a reading of 262 BHP! I told this to Niki and he said that was probably right because I would be getting the denser cold air on the road compared to the fan used on the rolling road. Well I was extremely happy with what Niki and Ben had done for me. These 2 gentlemen are simply the best in the business and I would never ever go anywhere else to get my car, or any future car remapped. R-Tech give a first class service everytime!

So after getting home and doing just as Niki advised, the car felt tremendously different, in fact, she felt fricken MENTAL!!! This is what my Liquid gauge was now showing...
  273 BHP

It is like driving something new, the power pulls in all gears and is just simply BRILLIANT thanks to R-Tech
I even left a Porsche boxter behind at some lights LOL
